Resolution:<\/strong> This is the famous BSY BUG problem, often found in drives of this family (Barracuda 7200.11). It occured early in the previous decade and it was the reason for millions of drive's withdrawals from the manufacturer.<\/p>

Background:<\/strong> The drive suffered a fall during operation. Then, it was opened in an uncontrolled environment and was butchered internally. Many of its internal components were modified.\u00a0<\/p>

Causes:<\/strong>\u00a0Bad Controller quality.<\/p>

Background:<\/strong>\u00a0The card stopped working unexpectedly.<\/p>

Resolution:<\/strong>\u00a0We had to scratch the back side of the card, to reveal it's connection map and find the pinout. It is a standard 6x4 layout with a 4568_4632 geometry. Despite the fact that the layout looks like a 7x4, the 3 pads to the right are not being used. This is an extremely complex case, that ended well.<\/p>
