Hard drive with Bitlocker encryption - Case 441447
A drive came in for recovery. The drive would click.

Symptoms: The drive produces clicking sounds during spin up and then spins down.
Causes: Drive impact
Background: Our client informed us that the drive was inside a laptop and has suffered a fall when a little kid that was in the same room stumbled upon the laptop's cable and brought it down with him.
Resolution: We replaced the drive's heads only to find out that the data was encrypted using Bitlocker. We requested the Bitlocker key from our client, but he told us that he never used Bitlocker (he didn't even know what Bitlocker is). We asked him if the laptop's manufacturer is Dell and he confirmed this. We then guided him how to retrieve his Bitlocker key, which was successful. We then applied the key and recovered the data.
